Java is a most popular programming language in software development and there are many contests to inspire Java programmers, at the same time to find the best coders. In Bangladesh, Therap Services is one of the top multinational software company who organized a contest in a nice festive mood to bring all java lovers in a common platform. There were exciting prizes; such as first prize two i-Pad, second prize Samsung Galaxy, third prize Amazon Kindle.
There were four levels to cross and get the first prize. In first step, there were a online Java programming contest. Contestant had to solve several problems in a fixed time. Then they selected almost top contestant to make a team with a project plan; we had an option to choose J2EE or Android Mobile application.
Now, mobile application is very popular to software developer. Thus, I have decided to develop an application in mobile platform and submit my idea. In project idea submission level, they again choose the best idea. Then, there was one month break to develop the project based on real data and user experience. At that time, they helped contestant by providing necessary technical solutions.
In this contest, I have developed an mobile app to ensure quick medical service.
There are a lot of features. One user can ask for primary medical
treatment suggestion/first aid. He can search about nearest medical
center, doctor chamber, emergency center. There is an option to make an
appointment schedule with doctor. The doctor also can keep a patient
record.
At last the final round came with a lot of excitement, pleasure and mystery. Who would be the first team? There were several judges from Therap Services and was placed in BRAC Center. It was nicely decorated with different colors and festoons. In the last stage, we have presented our app to explain each features and techniques that we applied to complete our app. Judges also checked our code and design patterns. Finally, they announced the name of winner team, BUET was winner and runners up was University of Dhaka. Our team had reached at the top ten finalist team. Then, there was a nice photo session with judges and contestant. It was my fist software contest and really an amazing feeling that is never forgettable.
